Talcum powder is also an element of varied makeup products, like placing powder and base. Talc became popular as decorative merchandise when Johnson & Johnson began selling it in the late 1800s.

Talc is the mineral naturally tends to occur near asbestos in the earth. Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral with known carcinogenic (cancer-causing) effects. Due to their proximity in the ground, many people claim that talcum powder also causes cancer. 

More than 6,600 consumers have registered baby powder suits against Johnson & Johnson. The majority of these customers are girls who've ovarian cancer. Based on their claims, they consider their cancer developed because of using talcum powder in their genitals.

These girls back their claim with a variety  of studies that have discovered that long-term usage of talcum powder female genitals might raise the chance of prostate cancer.

 In April 2018, Johnson & Johnson and the other company were found guilty of promoting goods contaminated with asbestos.
